If the RULES are not obeyed, you will only be warned two times. On the third strike, you will be banned for a period of time, depending on what one of the Admins decide is the right amount of time for your offenses.
These rules are elastic, meaning they can be modified at any time. Be sure to check back often to see if the admins have made any updates. Before you even register as a member, and definitely before you create a character, you must read these rules. The admins did not spend time writing this out for their own benefit; we expect members to be responsible and manage themselves according to our code.
Moderators have the right to warn you or correct any misuse of the RULES or any questionable behavior of the mistreatment of the forums or toward your fellow members.
If Moderators feel more action needs to be taken, they may report it to an Admin who can decide the correct course of action from there.
RULES
Honesty is Expected
Not only is honesty expected of all members, including the Staff, it is absolutely required. Though the following list of offenses should be common sense, we will post it to ensure there is no confusion or conflict.
1) Plagiarism - Unauthorized use/redistribution/close imitation of anothers work.
2) PP(Power-Playing)/GM(God-Moding) - NO Power-playing(pp), God-moding(gm), or Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus. Nobody and nothing is PERFECT. This is semi-realistic. There are no powers or any superzomgwolves. They do not have hideously long canines like a Sabertooth's or any funky powers like farting bubbles. Yes. I went there.
3) Modification/Falsification - To alter or otherwise change anything that is not your own or to deceive any of the Staff.
4) Theft - To steal anyone elses work, or to claim anything not originally your own, or to use/copy/redistribute copywritten work that does not belong to yourself.
5) Mini-Modding - Telling other members what they can and cannot do, how, etc. It is the duty of the members to uphold the rules, not to enforce them. The Moderators and Admins will see to it that all members are adhering to the rules, have no worries. If anybody has any problems, they may refer the person to the Rules or PM (personal message) a Moderator or Admin.
Dishonesty, as listed in the above offenses, is taken very seriously in Requiem. Consequences may range from warnings to a complete ban of the forums, depending upon the severity of the offense. These consequences WILL be immediate and placed upon a permanent record in your profile.
OUT-OF-CHARACTER CODE
[1] Remain respectful and courteous to all your fellow members, Moderators, and Administrators. I do not want to see any cussing at, threatening, mistreatment in any way, verbal abuse or any form of rudeness to a fellow roleplayer. This will result in an automatic ban from the forums.
[2] If anybody is found breaking any of the rules listed from above, here or below, please report them via pm to one of the Administration, being either Sighani or Asphyxia. Any reports are kept anonymous and will not be given up to the accused. Please speak up for the good of everyone on the forums! DO NOT try to act the vigilante. This tends to make situations worse and it is better left to the Administration to deal with such things on the forums.
[3]Swearing is allowed, both in- and out-of-character. However, use these words with discretion. Anyone found abusing this privilege will face the consequences.
[4] PLEASE REMAIN ACTIVE. You may have as many characters as you can keep up with, but PLEASE remain active. If you're going to be disappearing for extended periods of time, please do your best to inform your fellow roleplayers. If something happened that required you away, and did not allow you to get on to inform someone, then we understand. However, it's not pleasant to be left hanging.
[5] Please be literate. This will be a great starting site for first-time roleplayers. However, many of us are advanced roleplayers with many years of experience and we appreciate posting with members of the same caliber. While correct spelling/grammar isn't strictly monitored, the Admins will become aware of ignorance and illiteracy if your posts are riddled with simple, fixable mistakes. There is an automated Spell Check on Firefox, and there are many free spell checks on the internet. It would be preferred if you at least wrote TWO paragraphs (six sentences per paragraph) per post. The more there is for your fellow roleplayers, the easier it will be for them to come up with a response.
[6] All posts must be placed on the appropriate board. For example, ALL Advertisements or affiliation requests MUST go on the Advertisements and Affiliations board. If they are put elsewhere, they will be REMOVED and ignored.
[7] Signature pics must be less than or equal to 550px wide and 300px high. Any avatars must be 100px by 100px, and your cbox icon, if you have one, cannot exceed 45px by 45px. Use your head: no pictures may be obscene or overtly sexual. All pictures found breaking this rule will be removed immediately and the member may risk deletion.
[8] This forum is for roleplaying, general chatting, and fun. Leave your baggage at the door and keep the out-of-character drama offsite. This is not the place to debate politics, religion, or other worldviews. We want all members to feel safe, secure, and welcome on this forum. If you would rather argue than roleplay, your membership will be cancelled.
[9] Members absolutely WILL NOT be judged based on religion, race, sexual orientation, or gender. This site has zero tolerance for loud-mouthed bigots who would sink so low as to demean someone different. Anyone found breaking this rule will be deleted instantly and without warning.
[10] Feel free to use the cbox as much as you want, but don't flood it with spam and advertisements. If people are abusing the cbox, it will be removed from the forum. One person can ruin it for everyone. So please, if you don't want a site full of people angry at you, check yourself.
[11] Above all else, please use common sense. All major conflicts and issues can be avoided if you simply think before you act.
[12]FROM NOW ON those who DO NOT post within two months of registering will have their account removed from Requiem. Inactive members take up space and clutter our list of members.
IN-CHARACTER CODE
[1] Currently, we accept only canine characters, including wolves, coyotes, foxes, dogs or any hybrids of those species. WE DO NOT ACCEPT HUMANS OR ANY OTHER KIND OF ANIMAL. Any profiles that do not follow this rule will be deleted. Consider this your first and only warning.
[2] Please note that we ARE NOT on liquid time. Meaning that your character may not be in several places at once. We are semi-realistic and do not need the forums overloaded with the same character in hundreds of different threads.
[3]If a fight starts amongst two characters, be sure that you speak with the other person about how the fight should end. Who gets injured most? Who backs out? Who wins the battle? You are NOT permitted to kill anybody's character without first acquiring their permission. You cannot say, "My wolf killed yours. You lose." It is a joint decision amongst roleplayers and is to remain as such.
[4] NO FUNKY FUR COLORS/MUTATIONS PLEASE. You don't see wolves walking around with horns or with wings. Nor do you see some pretty pink wolf with zebra stripes. While this site is only semi-realistic, we do not accept unnatural colorations/mutations because they are completely impractical (and honestly, we find them pretty cheesy). However, please feel free to give your characters any shade of a rainbow of eye colors.
[5] If you want your wolf to mate with another person's wolf, you have permission to suggest it is happening or happened. However, graphic detail isn't currently permitted.
[6] Try to keep the member ratio pretty even among the packs. If there is a flood of characters to one pack while the other two packs are starved for members, the large pack has the right to close its doors to any new and unaccepted characters.
[7] Your character may not have his/her own pack, end of story. So don't even ask. If the Administration sees a need for a new pack in Requiem, there will be an announcement and all members will be free to submit an application.
[8] The character template isn't necessarily required, but it is highly recommended. We are pretty lax on stat arrangements and if you feel you have a better organized profile format than the one we provide, so be it. As long as all the information listed in Requiem's profile template is included somewhere in your stats, you're golden.
[9] The tables are allowed on our forums, however, we request that you refrain from using colors that may hurt peoples eyes or colors that are near impossible to read and thank you for the cooperation. Any tables that cannot be read, you will be asked to change the color. If you do not heed this warning, the table will be removed from the post.
[10] Using images in tables, PLEASE keep them below 550 px to prevent them from stretching the boards. Anything not properly sized will be resized for you, which may result in your image becoming distorted, or will be removed entirely.
Thank you, The Administration.
