The Lost Swamp, also known as Palude Persa, is a land filled with salty water fed off from the ocean. These lands are hot and humid, making perfect home to some dangerous creatures such as the alligators that thrive in this environment. Very little land exists in these waters, although the water is usually only as high as five feet in deeper areas. Leaving only maybe a couple square feet of land to rest upon. Often occupied by sun-bathing alligators. In winter, the water surface rises up to highs of fifteen feet and grows cold, forcing the alligators to migrate to shallower waters and making way for creatures that travel the waterways from the ocean to pass through here. It's nearly impossible for a wolf to make it by here in winter, and still nearly as difficult in the summer.
THE WILDLIFE
The swamp is filled with alligators that have adapted to the saltwater life. When the swamp floods, all sorts of ocean creatures will swim through the swamp, forcing the alligators to migrate to shallower waters. Larger ocean mammals such as manatees have been seen, occasionally even creatures such as regular ocean fish and sharks. Leeches swarm these swamps, feeding off any creature that steps foot in the murky depths. Even pumas will take a rare stroll through these lands. These wild cats have adapted and are adept swimmers. But they often clash with the alligators of these swamps when they do pass through.
Alligators
Leeches fill these swamps, often latching onto any mammals around in large swarms. However, they only live in the deepest beds of water. They feed off the blood of their victims and can be difficult to remove.
Mountain Lions will occasionally stroll through the swamps or take a swim through to get to other land or other parts of their territory. Often, they meet the face of a hungry alligator, however, and have to fight to survive here almost as much as the wolves do. With their ability to climb trees, these cats find it easier to live here than any wolf might.
Bugs/Insects swamp this swamp. Literally. These bugs and insects can be from the tiniest, most harmless insect to the biggest, vicious bug. Take the Giant Hornet for example. These lively critters will sting anything they deem a threat, leaving them with a potent venom that has the ability to be lethal, depending on the dosage left in the creature. The venom can damage the tissue and cause pain to its victim, while producing a pheromone that attracts other Giant Hornets to his victim. Or, for another example, the Bullet Ant. A black ant which resembles a wingless wasp. These tiny guys have a painful sting that is said to feel like getting shot by a humans bullet.
Seasonal Creatures often come when the waters depth rises, giving them more room to navigate around the many trees here. These creatures come from the ocean, which feeds the swamp here and will often simply pass through. Manatees are often seen during the winter when the water surface rises, giving them plenty of room to swim. Oftentimes, other ocean creatures usually too large to otherwise swim through the shallow swamp will swim through when the water rises.
