Fly smiled at Cara. She was a sweet pup, to be sure. It reminded her of when she had taken Dalek under her wing. Acoustics pulled in the direction of the enthusiastic pup, all while listening to Tynan’s words. Within moments, Cara had flopped over, her stomach making loud, awkward sounding noises. Fly stepped over to the pup and nosed at her gently. “Perhaps next time you should slow down how fast you eat something, yes?” Gently, Fly’s paw was placed at Cara’s belly, gently rubbing it, acoustics tucking backward as she continued to listen to Tynan. “Enjoy the company of another? Are you perhaps suggesting I enjoy your company, Tynan? I’m sure I’d be more interested, if you proved to be more interesting.” A light smirk crossed the femmes lips, plume giving a gentle wag as she glanced over her shoulder back at him.
Fly’s gaze traveled back to Cara at his words of Vergilius being proud of her and of her chasing off many a newcomer. It reminded her of home. How many she had chased from home. How well she’d done there. And how little she had been here. Plume stopped wagging and became limp behind her muscled frame, her paw continuing to rub at the dogs stomach. Reclining upon her haunches, she waited for Tynan to continue blubbering about more things, remaining silent about how long she had been here. As he stepped closer, grinning, her lips curled, a growl rumbling in her chest at his proximity. Sweet side? Did he seriously think that? Rolling her spheres at him as he broke off laughing, she continued to listen to his bantering. Soon, if he continued to annoy her, she would latch upon his throat. Then who would be having the fun?
“You’re walking into lands of a fair King that is nothing but welcoming and accepting, no matter your situation. One that would probably accept even… you.” Her black spheres shifted to gaze upon him, her plume flopping over Cara’s belly. “It’s doubtful even you would get torn apart at Vergilius’s command.” She stared at him for a moment. New to the areas of wolves? Fly had wandered upon human territory before and immediately had decided she didn’t like it. Being a hybrid, many had pondered at what she was and many had immediately picked up on the wolf in her bloodlines and chased her off. She had hated the city and it had been where she had found Dalek. Humans considered dog mans best friend, so why had they done to Dalek what they had done? Narrowed spheres landed on Tynan. “You were a pet or a stray? It’s clear you come from mans territory and yes, Tynan, they are far different from here. Although I’m little familiar with stray dogs there.”
Laughter pitched from Fly’s lips, her amused grin turning upon Tynan. “If you come from the city, of course hunting is easier there. Garbage, however, out here is not considered hunting. Nor is finding that crap that humans call food.” She tipped her crown, gazing at the expression that crossed his features and for a moment, she wondered what he was hiding behind his own charming mask. Narrowed eyes met his briefly, pondering it, but she decided to leave it alone. They all had their own secrets. If she didn’t ask him to share his, she wouldn’t be expected to reciprocate. “Cara!” Her gaze landed on the pup again and she nudged her playfully, attempting to get her mind off the stomach troubles she was having. “Come, I’ll teach you how to fish and if your stomach is still bugging you, then you can just fish for the fun of it!”
She stopped rubbing the pups stomach and leapt over her chassis, loping the few feet to the waters edge before she hopped into the creek. Standing belly deep in the water, she glanced back at the other two, the splashed water soaking her halfway up her sides and soaking the fur at her chest, dragging her cloak towards the waters surface. “Tynan, you claim to be a good hunter, so let’s see what you’ve got.” She may as well enjoy his company for now, as it was clear she wouldn’t rid herself of him yet. “Cara, come on, I’ll show you how to do it!” She probably looked very entertaining, standing there, acoustics pulled forward, jaws parted with a tongue lolling, body half soaked in the creek. Feeling the movement of sleek fish sliding past her legs, Fly dunked her crown immediately and in moments, brought up her soaked skull, a salmon flopping furiously in her jaws as she grinned stupidly

Him, uninteresting? That was one he hadn't heard before. He grinned as she spoke, knowing even as she said those words that they were a lie. After all, if she wasn't liking their conversation, why was she still sticking around? "Au, contraire. I think you are quite intrigued. I don't blame you for denying it. As I said before, the beautiful ones are always the cruel ones. Must be in the genes. After all, if you had looks and personality, I don't think the world could handle it." He was clearly joking, but his words were said with a bit of true feeling. He'd spoken with enough faes to know that what he said wasn't entirely false, but rather the opposite. The generalization was a jest, but it didn't make it untrue.
At her growl, he stopped, then took a step back, his own eyes rolling. She was a touchy one, wasn't she? "Well that's good to know. I'd hate to be torn apart and never get to hear your sweet words of comfort any longer." He really couldn't take anything she said seriously at this point. It was just too encouraging to annoy the hell out of her. Perhaps he should tone it down a bit though. Tynan wasn't stupid, whatever this fem thought of him, and soon, they could very well be packmates. He would hate to earn her hatred. A pleasant annoyance and general dislike he could definitely deal with though.
As she asked about his past, his tone got a little more serious. "Stray, if that's what you choose to call it. I ran with a pack, but let's just say it didn't work out." He chuckled at her assumption. "Garbage, food? Honey, not even if I was desperate." He had seen what that stuff those humans threw away had done to his former packmates. If it didn't make them fat and lazy then it made them sickly and weak. "I worked for my food, and while I might not have had to chase it down, I had to find it, and avoid man while I did so." He chuckled. "The city might not be dangerous enough for the likes of you, but I have to say, since getting out of there, I've not had to watch my back nearly as much." Man, their vehicles, the hustle and bustle. At least here he could walk without fear of being run down by one of those monstrosities.
He'd lived both sides, though a housepet he'd never been. At one time, however, he may have considered himself 'man's best friend.' Ha, what a joke. Dogs weren't even close. They were just conveniently there to use and abuse, like one of those tools man had to use for whatever reason. At least he'd been taught the true nature of man. There wasn't one among them that could be counted on. He'd even been better off with Varak's crew of traitors.
Wait, fish? Tynan tuned back into the conversation as food was once again mentioned. Trust his stomach to always bring him back to ground. "I can't say I have much experience in this area, but I'm sure with your brilliant teaching, I'll manage." He looked at the creek with interest. He'd never really considered fish, since they weren't present back home. Small game had always been his forte, his lean form suited to taking off after them. Fishing, however, could be a worthwhile skill to learn out here. He watched as Fly entered the water and, almost quicker than could be followed, pulled out a large catch. Impressed, he followed suit, walking carefully into the creek until it reached his chest. He didn't want to move too much for fear of disturbing the prey, so he stood stock still, eyes following the silver flashes as his coat detected the currents left behind by fins. His first attempt came up empty, and he chuckled at the miss, but for the second he waited longer, looking for any sort of pattern as to the speed of the passing salmon.
When he thought he had it, he tried again, and this time his jaws closed around a slippery fish. The feel of it almost made him let go, for he was surprised by the texture of the scales, but he forced his jaws to close tighter. Immediately he regretted it, though, as the fin shot out, spiking him on the cheek. With a growl he flung the fish back on the bank. "I guess I wasn't ready for that one," he said somewhat to himself, probing the small cut with his tongue as he climbed out of the water to catch his flipping fish. He wasn't going to let this one get away that easily.

The young pup quite enjoyed the tummy rub recieved from her new friend, Fly. It was somehow comforting, even if they had only just met today. She let out a sigh, with a long drawn yawn trailing soon after. The fish had been absolutely deliscious. Just the thought, the lingering taste that made her salivate once again, was enough to dull the ache of her poor stomach.
She hadn't eaten in so long, she'd forced too much down all at once. Not only that, but this fish was much richer and full of so many new things her body had never before had to digest. Funny how the body can get so turned around, that chemicals and unnatural 'kibble' can seem healthy, while natural vitamin packed 'real' food seems like poison until properly eased into the diet. Fish was like some kind of horrible torture device for Cara. She yearned for yet another, while her stomach rebelled and begged her to find her kibble.
While the adults spoke, Cara zoned out, being lulled into a half sleep with the generous tummy rubs she was being given. She suddenly perked up while hearing the word 'city' her round whelpish face tilting to one side in interest and recognition. "City??" She spoke excitedly, tail thumping a few times. "One of my sisters was sent to the city! I hope the city is nice. And there is lots of food and friends to play with.. Do you think she is happy in the city Fly??" Cara then looked at Tynan. "The city is safe, right Tynan? ... " She looked mildly worried, but had already somehow half-convinced herself that her sister was in a magnificent place. She was sure of it.. What would the adults say about it? Her hopes were high.
As the two rose and headed for the creek, Cara stumbled to her clumsy feet and pranced along behind. She stood on the bank, eyes wide as she watched Fly catch a salmon with such ease. She cheered, laughing happily while her tail whipped back and forth. Next was Tynan to try, she couldn't stop grinning the entire time. Fly was like her idol already, and watching her be able to outdo Tynan seemed like a very right thing to have happened. Fly was glowing, and Cara was staring, wondering if she would ever be as strong and fast and as smart as her friend Fly.
She giggled uncontrolably as Tynan missed, and yet again as he spit out his prey in somewhat shock. She play bowed, like she used to with her siblings, to taunt him somewhat before she took a giant leap forward. She was right on the edge of the water now, watching the fish and leaning forward so far she was rocking back and forth unsteadily. Excitement overtook her, and she took a dive. Face first, Cara splashed into the cool waters sputtering and flailing and making an awful scene as she righted herself and stood once more. Now she stood still finally, and looked all around her legs. Where had the fish gone? "Fly.. How am I suppose to catch a fish, if there are no fish??" She sounded quite surprised, and perhaps a little dissapointed too.
